Sharing the Path — grantwriting

It’s a great idea: Three proven nonprofits want to collaborate in helping adult ex-offenders mentor their juvenile counterparts, all within the framework of storytelling through improvisational theater and with the support of counselors trained in the recognition of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). The problem: The grant application deadline was looming, and the project idea wasn’t fully formed. I successfully met the grant application deadline by digging into each organization, pushing to clarify the project goals and costs, collaborating with all the key players, and paying close attention to critical details of the application process.
