History Book

2018 was a big year for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare – the health system marked its 100th anniversary while building a transformational new facility in the heart of Memphis. As part of this epic centennial celebration, Methodist commissioned me to write an original, 128-page book recounting its history as one of the city’s foundational institutions.

I collaborated with a retired hospital executive, who did most of the original interviews, as well as marketing department leaders on editorial direction and photo research. But outlining the chapters, working to make each page engaging, and writing so that Methodist’s lifesaving stories came alive? That was all on me. The book is a gift to hospital staff, employees, and supporters, and has been received with gratitude and appreciation, reflecting just the corporate culture my writing tried to illuminate.
